New Orleans, Day One

We took Grady and Vera to New Orleans for several days.  Pops and Grana came along on the adventure with us too.  Bless their hearts.  ha ha!  Just kidding.  Vacationing with a 4 year old and a 1 year old is quite the experience.  The kids had a BALL.  Josh and I were worn out!  Pops told us one day after lots and lots of fun that the kids looked like they were in much better shape than their parents!  Probably true.

The first day when we arrived we took them to City Park.  None of us had ever been, but Josh had read about it somewhere and we decided to give it a try.  It might have been Grady's favorite thing we did the entire time.  It was the nicest park...so clean and safe and kid-friendly!  They had a "Storybook Village" with little playground-type equipment and lots of characters from nursery rhymes and children's literature.  They also had rides such as the ones you'd see at the fair for little kids.  They had a blast taking it all in!

When we checked into our hotel, I couldn't pull Vera away from the window.  We were on the 25th floor overlooking the river.  She spent lots and lots of time looking for and pointing at the boats.

Stay tuned for more pictures!
